barefoot girl with shoes on

It was midnight on the ocean,
Not a streetcar was in sight;
While the sun was shining brightly,
For it had rained all night.
‘Twas a summer’s day in Winter,
And the rain was snowing fast,
As the barefoot boy with shoes on
Stood sitting in the grass.

  • I’ve seen a lot of women who’ve lost their hair recently, and they’re beautiful. I know it wasn’t their choice, and maybe they put on a show of strength and confidence and beauty because they fear it isn’t really there anymore, because it left with the hair. Or maybe it grows where the hair once was, or maybe hair has nothing to do with it. I almost want to find out. Would it be like shedding a weight you never knew you carried, or like losing an old, old freind you didn’t think to miss because it was always there?
